So I plucked up courage, got out my dies, stamens, heated up the iron and ....
... what a flop. 😒 This is one thing I need to practice again and again.
Not to be downhearted though. And I was set on making some flowers, so I continued to cut out different flower shapes in paper and form them using my McGill flower forming tools, foam and different types of paper.
I used some patterned vellum which didn't turn out as good as I liked, so next time I shall use a smaller flower shape.
I had some blue and purple tartan which I also cut out and layered and I love these.
Another whimsy is the white with blue dots rose.
The asters are another favourite as are the gerberas.
A simple flower to make uses plain circles either die cut or punched, wet, scrunch up and leave to dry. When dry, unfold and layer. They're like little carnations.
Overall though, my absolute favourites from this bundle are the single cream blossom flowers tinged with pink and covered with glossy accents. Perfect for adorning cards or albums.
And finally, let's not forget the foliage. No flower is perfect without a leaf or two to set it off.
I do hope you like them. They certainly took long enough to make. And the foamiran flower is front right alongside the spotted rose. Horrid and shapeless. Ah well. It wasn't a total wash out. 😁
