Dreamland

Another album no less. I'm definitely improving with these, thanks to You Tube tutorials, some great papers and a bit of imagination.

This album uses Graphic 45 Dreamland pad.

Another spine and the pages within this one mimic each other, so no individual pictures of each one.

I believe I said in my last album that I was getting low on card but the pad is a recent on-line purchase. I found a stack of pale blue card that was useful for the internal pages but not enough to cover the album chipboard.

I had a fat quarter of cotton cloth in my stash which I'd thought of using to bind with at some point but it wasn't suitable for this. I decided to raid my wardrobe and came across an old pair of cropped denim jeans and thought 'Bingo'!

One leg used and the rest put away for another album in the future. Really pleased with this. Added some lace from my stash, a Tim Holtz ring brad with a key charm from my stash and voila.

Isolation is making me me more imaginative with the things I do have rather than buying more all the time. Very chuffed with my little self.

I do like it and I hope you do too.

Thanks for stopping by and do come again.

Piggies album

Well with a dearth of papers and card to use at the moment, I turned to some freebie papers I had stored away in my stash. Knew they'd come in useful one day.
As soon as I saw the piggies I knew exactly who to give this album to. A friend of mine loves pigs in all shape and sizes. I've made her pig cards, crocheted her a pig and so now she can have an album.

I tried a new style of album. Still using a spine but with an overlapping front. Still haven't decided how to close it yet. Might use a metal closure as soon as I can get some. No rush.

I am really quite pleased with how this turned out. I used some old Stampin' Up! papers for the cover along with some ready made paper flowers to decorate. The magazine papers I used on the inside. Although these are not the best quality papers I've used, they have worked brilliantly.

The piggies, I've added glued on just two sides so a photograph can be positioned in it.

I've also used less magnets with this album and tried some alternative closures. The picture above shows a metal coin in the top right corner. Attached by a brad it can be moved out of the way and I really like this idea. I saw a young girl on You Tube (Alagaina Scrap) do this style and had to have a go.

I love the finished result and hope my friend does too.

Thanks for stopping by

Flowers galore

The latest trend in hand crafted flowers is foamiran. YouTube is full of tutorials. So decided to have a go after seeing so many. I actually boat my foamiran last year but never got round to using it.
So I plucked up courage, got out my dies, stamens, heated up the iron and ....
... what a flop. 😒 This is one thing I need to practice again and again.
Not to be downhearted though. And I was set on making some flowers, so I continued to cut out different flower shapes in paper and form them using my McGill flower forming tools, foam and different types of paper.

I used some patterned vellum which didn't turn out as good as I liked, so next time I shall use a smaller flower shape.
I had some blue and purple tartan which I also cut out and layered and I love these.
Another whimsy is the white with blue dots rose.
The asters are another favourite as are the gerberas.
A simple flower to make uses plain circles either die cut or punched, wet, scrunch up and leave to dry. When dry, unfold and layer. They're like little carnations.
Overall though, my absolute favourites from this bundle are the single cream blossom flowers tinged with pink and covered with glossy accents. Perfect for adorning cards or albums.
And finally, let's not forget the foliage. No flower is perfect without a leaf or two to set it off.

I do hope you like them. They certainly took long enough to make. And the foamiran flower is front right alongside the spotted rose. Horrid and shapeless. Ah well. It wasn't a total wash out. 😁
