Now usually birthdays take me by surprise and I panic that I have nothing ready so this year is going to be different. (Hope these are not famous last words)
I have a birthday book but once a birthday is listed I hardly ever open it again and hence the panic.
So what can I do to be more organised? I decided that whatever it is I do it has to be really visible and on my craft table.
I trawled Pinterest and YouTube and finally found something that wasn't exactly what I wanted but it was adaptable.
I set to and made a box to house twelve tabs to represent each month.
To work for me I decided to have the next month's occasions visible rather than the current so I could really be prepared in advanced. When finished just move to the back to reveal the next month.
Now I know it's not world changing but it will work for me (fingers crossed).
The You Tube video that inspired me was a very nice 3x3 card box.
I swapped cards for dividers for each month of year.
If you want to know how to make the box have a look at You Tube tutorial by Intatwyne Designs here.
This is the finished product I have made and whilst it has a few flaws I am pretty pleased with it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Karen I love Angelina's 3D designs she is so clever at putting ideas together. I think you have done a great job of creating your birthday card monthly calendar holder. I was luckily enough to purchase SU Perennial Birthday Card Kit in the Spring/Summer Catalogue which came in the most beautiful box with the months of the year cards with it too. But if I hadn't of got this then I probably would have made something similar to what you have here because I need to be in front with my birthday cards as I am doing my handmade card challenge this year. So far I have sent out over 130 birthday/thank you/Hi cards to family, friends and crafty pals too. I am loving doing it and the response from the recipients makes it all worth while. :O)
