Decoupage

I have seen some beautiful decoupage cards over the years although it was not something that I particularly excelled at.

Then my friend gave me a decoupage sheet of a beautiful cameo of a lady in a hat. It was so pretty I just had to give it a go.
Scissors in hand I started to snip. I made a few mistakes but when layered together I felt you couldn't tell.
I decided to keep with the monochrome effect.

I trimmed it up with some little pearl beads and thought I'd put one to reflect an earring.
I was really pleased with the end result. I have made others since as in my grandson's Rock On card but I always look at this and think 'how lovely'.

Hope you like it as much as I do.

Thank you for stopping by

  1. this is lovely. Do you know where the decoupage comes from originally?

  2. I have no idea. This was given to me by a friend and I've had it for quite some time. I shall ask my friend however and if she can remember I shall let you know

  3. I had not idea where mine came from either because it was gifted to me by someone giving up crafting. I don't normally do much decoupage but this one was just right for the card challenge I was doing. I love how you have put her on this card design of yours Karen. xx
