album number 2

This album just flew together using the Stamperia Old Lace 12" x 12" paper pad. It's pretty pricey at £13 for just 10 sheets plus the cover sheet, which also is patterned on the reverse, but it is so cleverly designed and put together, every single piece of paper is utilised.
It is sturdy, using chipboard to create the base, as did my previous Happy You album.
With this I created a spine for the pages to sit on and I do like this technique very much.

The internal front base page uses one of the beautiful corset dress images to cover the pocket. The page inserted into this pocket opens up to showcase another one of these beautiful images.

The page on the right has six flip pages all held in place by magnets and a patterned strip. The end opens up to house a larger tag.
These next pictures showcase page 3, A magnetised strip covers a double pocket housing more cards and tags Page 4 is also visible in this picture with its pocket for more cards.

page 4 also opens at the end to house another large card.

page 5 has a small tag pocket on the left and a strip of four opening out to house pictures both back and front.

page 6 also has a six flip panel held in place with the patterned strip. Under the strip is also another one of the pockets shown above, On this page, the opening is at the top to house another larger card.

page 7 has another pull out panel of four to showcase pictures on both sides. You can also see the final back page pocket on the right.
Can you see that gorgeous patterned lace moth on one of the squares? So delicate and pretty. I've taken a close up and shown that below.

page 8, the final back page shows a pocket of tags and an envelope.

The envelope is a brilliant example of how well this pad has been put together, I hope you'll agree.

Such beautiful paper has brought this album to life and made the design of it so easy to do.

Please note the link at the beginning is the cheapest I could locate and showcases some of the papers in this amazing pad.

I hope you like it as much as I do.

Covid 19 album no 1

Well this took hardly any time at all. Only kidding. So much time on our hands at the moment. Only worry is running out of paper and glue.
Finished off my Happy You pad from Trimcraft on this one. Love it.
For the spine cover I tried to get a leather look with embossing powder and a bone folder but it didn't quite work on such a large piece. May add some embellishments or other to hide where it is dull and matt. Hey, I never said I was perfect haha.

The rest of it though came together so well and I'm immensely pleased with it.
Hope you like it and I'll be back soon with album no 2 using some shabby chic style papers from Stamperia.

Keep well, stay safe

Keeping sane during Covid 19

I really can't believe it's been so long since I last tapped out some crafty blogs. Anyway, it has been too long. At home self-isolating due to this damn virus. Who'd have thought our countries could be brought to their knees by this?
On a brighter note there is time to get crafting and blogging again. So with a view to keeping sane I am posting first of all, some of the things I've made and been remiss posting and blogging.
First up is this lovely hat easel card and hat box to keep it in. Inspired by the lovely Ann Martin of Positively Papercraft. If you'd like to make one yourself please follow this link to Ann's YouTube tutorial. Another Easel Hat Card  I will not be surprised if you don't come back. Ann makes some amazing things.

Second up is another hat easel card but with a square box this time. Another inspiration from Positively papercraft. I made the hat taller on this one and inserted a small card inside the box to write the greeting on. If you want to watch Ann's tutorial on this one, select here.

Third up is an album I have made and has been donated to my youngest granddaughter. I thoroughly enjoyed making this one and felt a huge improvement on my album making skills with this one. Still a way to go though.

Next up is this card I made for my older granddaughter's birthday earlier this month. It's a box style card and covered with acetate over the box area where the sentiment is. I was happy with this and thankfully so was she. I may even do a written and pictorial tutorial for making these in the days to come, so watch this space.

Lastly, Christmas has been and gone since I last blogged and I made this lovely lantern. Guess where the inspiration came from? You got it, Positively Papercraft. You'll need a die for this and Ann gives the link to all items used below her tutorial. If you'd like to watch it, select here.

Also had a go at making my own gift bag and matching card and was super thrilled at how this one turned out.

Well these bring me up to date more or less and hope you like them. I am currently finishing off another album I have been working on. I'll share this when I've finished although my next one, which I am already itching to get started on, I will attempt making it using a spine. The ones I have seen appear to have a much sleeker finish. We'll see.

Thanks for popping by and see you soon. Stay safe.
